αHire Ed?

Not cheap, but definately worth it.

At this stage in my career I value interesting, engaging work over all else. Depending on the project I'd expect to fit in a different way.

I'm not interested in being marzipan. Marzipan is a filler role between executive decisions and doing. If you want to hire me, it is because my experience and expertise is valuable to your project; I'm not a yes person and if that scares you then I'm not the right fit either. Having said that, one of my superpowers is that I smile every day at work (because I enjoy it!) and I'm easy to work with.

I love startups, but if you don't have funding and some traction then it isn't the right timing. I have enough harebrained ideas of my own to work on. A fit with a startup is likely to be a project that is flirting with scale, and needs help to get to the next level. I can help with technical leadership, product strategy, and team growth.

If you are a larger organization, I can help you as well. But be clear, you want me because you want a change agent and to leverage my expertise and experience to solve problems at scale. I'm not a cog in your machine, but I'd be happy to help you tweak, amend and optimize the engine while we fly along at scale.

Last thing. Work is important, and I'm happy to give everything. But I'll be based in Valencia, Spain. You want an office, let's get one there. I've not got a strong opinion on the working from home debate and would love office work but my family and home are based in Valencia, and I will be too.

Above all else, I love leading teams and growing devs. I love code. Hell, I love work. I know my shit and I'm not afraid to get my hands dirty. The thing I've found about getting shit done. It's infectious. That is another superpower.

I'm indifferent as to working for a project, as an employee or self-employed for contract work.
